Ned Calloway - Owner
I’ve been on roofs since 2016, when I started this company out of a garage in Northeast Philadelphia with a used pickup and a borrowed ladder. Forty-two years later, I’m still the one who answers when something’s gone sideways, still the one who walks every final inspection. I hold GAF Master Elite and CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster certifications, which mostly means I’ve sat through enough manufacturer training to know when someone’s cutting corners with materials. I live in Bucks County with my wife and two rescue dogs who have zero respect for my schedule. My cell number is on every truck because hiding from problems is not how this business stays upright.
Marcus T. - Lead Technician
Marcus has been with us fourteen years, starting as a laborer the week after he finished his service in the Army. He’s the one we send when a homeowner calls saying water’s coming through the bedroom ceiling and three other companies couldn’t find the leak. Marcus holds OSHA 30 certification and specializes in slate and tile restoration on the older rowhouses in Germantown and West Philly, where you can’t just nail down whatever shingle’s on sale. He keeps a battered notebook of every oddball repair he’s done, organized by neighborhood, and he’s been known to sketch flashing details on diner napkins when inspiration hits at 6 a.m. He coaches youth basketball in Port Richmond and refuses to let any crew member skip lunch.
Darnell K. - Senior Installer
Darnell runs our replacement crews and has personally overseen more than 800 full roof installations in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. He’s certified in GAF Timberline HDZ, Owens Corning Duration, and Boral concrete tile systems, which matters when a homeowner’s picked a specific product and we need to honor that warranty exactly. Darnell grew up in Southwest Philly, apprenticed under his uncle who was a city inspector, and he still won’t start a job until he’s walked the roof himself, even if the sales rep already measured it. He collects vintage Phillies caps and has a running bet with Marcus about whether the 1980 or 2008 team had the better rotation. He loses gracefully.
Sandra V. - Service Coordinator
Sandra is the live voice you get when you call (855) 554-5116 at 11 p.m. during a storm, or at 7 a.m. on a Sunday when you notice shingles in your azaleas. She’s been with Ridgeline for nine years, knows every technician’s strengths and every supplier’s lead time, and she schedules our work so that nobody’s driving from Fishtown to Roxborough for a two-hour repair unless it’s genuinely urgent. She holds EPA RRP certification for lead-safe practices, which she earned after seeing too many older Philadelphia homes get disturbed without proper containment. Sandra grew up in Olney, still lives there, and she’s the one who remembers your dog’s name, your preferred appointment window, and whether you need us to park on the street because your driveway’s being repaved.
Elijah R. - Apprentice
Elijah joined us in 2023 through our apprenticeship program, which we run because Philadelphia needs roofers who learn the trade right instead of watching a few YouTube videos and calling themselves experts. He’s completing his two-year certification through the Roofing Contractors Association of Pennsylvania, working alongside Darnell on installations and Marcus on repairs. Elijah’s already shown a knack for identifying hail damage that other crews miss, probably because he grew up helping his grandfather inspect houses in North Philly and learned to spot the difference between normal granule loss and actual impact bruising. He takes the bus to our yard in the dark every morning, never complains about the heat on summer tear-offs, and asks better questions than some journeymen I’ve met.
